Important Notice
Last Thursday (Aug. 6th) we received an email from Buenos Aires. Our beloved master Roberto Herrera has suffered a terrible incident – at the exit of a bank he was hit on the head and shot on the leg by robbers. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and now is resting at home. Treatment for his leg is still under process. Under these circumstances, we have to announce that Roberto and Silvana will not be able to come to Taipei this year. Roberto has expressed his regret not being able to join us and wishes everyone a wonderful time in the festival. Let us wish him together a full recovery, hoping to see him very soon.
We have been working hard these days to find a couple of masters to replace Roberto and Silvana, and we are pleased to announce that Leandro Palou, our good friend and former partner of Andrea Misse, will be coming with his partner Romina Godoy to the 2009 Taipei Tango Festival. Leandro has dedicated more than ten years to the art of performing and teaching Argentine Tango and currently directs a tango school, "Tango Soul", in London. Since his partnership with Romina in 2006, they have become the tango stars in the show business, participating in several commercials and shows, and many tango events and festivals in Europe. We have included their introduction and links to their website and videos in our Masters page; be sure to check it out! We believe that they will bring us the best with their tango and with their enthusiasm.
We have made some adjustments to the workshops numbered 505, 506, 603, 604, 701, 702, 805 and 806. Participants that have enrolled in these lessons please take a look at the revised Workshops page and contact us for adjustments you would wish to make. Please note that any adjustment should be completed before Sep. 9th.
