Masahito Namiki & Agnes Tang
- Tokyo & Taipei

Masa sailed out into the sea of tango in 1996.  He has lived in Buenos Aires about 2 years where he has woven the feeling of porteño into his tango.  He won the Salon category in 2005 and was a finalist in Stage category in 2004 and 2006 in the Tango Dance World Championship in Asia, has been featured in advertisement and documentary films, and performed in important venues such as Sin Rumbo and Glorias Argentinas in Buenos Aires, Barajo in Paris, Sweet Basil in Tokyo, Corazon Tango in Taipei among others.  In 2007, he co-produced a tango show “Nocturna” at the Sogetsu hall in Tokyo, in which he performed as a main dancer, collaborating with internationally renowned dancer Oscar Mandagaran and Georgina Vargas. He also has been active in teaching at various venues, including Zero Hour and Casino in Tokyo, Quais de Seine in Paris among others.

David Chiu & In-Kyoung Lee
- L.A. & Seoul

David Chiu is an inspirational, innovative and cutting edge tango instructor based in Los Angeles. His students get immediate results in a fun and nurturing learning environment. David's clear teaching and keen eye guides his students to incorporate new movements easily into their bodies. His style combines classic elegance with contemporary movements in close embrace.  David has been dancing for 16 years. Specializing in dancing and teaching tango for the last 11 years. He has studied extensively with Juan Carlos & Johana Copes, Osvaldo Zotto & Lorena Ermocida and Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne.

In-Kyoung is a professional tango dancer, a teacher, and an organizer who owns two milongas-El tango (Seoul, since 2009), Azucar (Daejeon, since 2003).  She was a finalist in the 2008 World Tango Championship, held in Busan, Korea.
She is also a director and a choreographer who has directed dance plays in several stages such as the Daejon Art Center, etc. She is also a professional tango event planner who has been running Korea's first all-time milonga at Azucar since 2003, organized several tango festivals with inviting Argentine tango maestros to Korea and has spread the culture of Argentine tango throughout Korea
She is the organizer for "The 6th Daejeon Tango Festival" (Oct 2-4) and would like to invite you to visit Korea to kick off the festival with an open-air milonga at Daejeon Expo bridge on 2010, Oct. 2nd!

Derrick Lee & Agnes Tang - Taipei
Derrick and Agnes have been partners since they were studying in National Taiwan University and have been dancing tango together for many years. They have studied tango from masters in many different countries, such as Argentina, United States, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Turkey...etc. In spite of having their own professions in electronics engineering and private equity respectively, they are professional tango dancers, teachers and choreographers giving regular tango lessons, performances and workshops in Taiwan. They have been invited for speeches, workshops and performances in several cities in Japan, China, Hong Kong and also interviewed by various media and press. In year 2006, they won the Creative Expression prize in Asian Tango Championship in Tokyo and also entered semi-final round in Worldwide Tango Championship in Buenos Aires.Their vibrant and breezy dance is always popular and their interpretation of tango along with interactions with each other make a very unique and impressive style.

Daniel & Weining - Taipei
Daniel is a professional tango dancer, instructor and choreographer in Taiwan. Starts dancing Argentine tango and Spanish flamenco in 1997 and in year 2000 founds with several friends the Taipei Tango Association, the first entity in Taiwan exclusively devoted to the promotion of Argentine tango. In 2002 travels to Buenos Aires to deepen his tango knowledge and becomes a full time tango dancer and organizer at his return to Taiwan in September 2002. In April 2008 co-founds the Taipei Tango Co. and the Tanguisimo Tango Space, the first dance studio in Taiwan to focus exclusively on Argentine tango teaching, cultural talks, milongas and master workshops. Apart from dancing, he also forms part of the first generation of the iTango Orchestra in Taiwan back in 2004 and has since been the male vocal singer of the orchestra. In 2007 he started learning the bandoneon, playing it as a fusion instrument in several flamenco performances. As teacher or performer he has been invited several times to Tokyo, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul, and recently with Stacy Jou as guest masters and dancers to the Festival Tango Sitges 2008. Daniel is regarded as one of the pioneers of Argentine tango in Taiwan, creating a solid tango community that attracts tango lovers to travel to Taipei to dance tango every year. His vision to establish a genuine Argentine tango culture in Asia makes him play an important role in tango today.

Wei-Ning, who received a MFA in Dance Performance from Taipei National University of the Arts and a BS in Psychology from Kaohsiung Medicine University. 2010, she had received a scholarship from LMF Dance Fund to research Tango in Argentina. In 2009 she had been invited to perform in Seoul Tango Festival and Taipei Tango Festival, and in the same year received a scholarship from National Culture and Arts Foundation and National Theater Concert Hall to join a choreography project: Young Star, New Version. In this project she created a piece Happiness which combined the elements and dancers from modern dance and tango. In 2008 she received American Dance Festival Scholarship Program from Chin-Lin Foundation for Culture and Arts and performed Trisha Brown’s Sololos. Lately, the performed pieces included Les Noces and I Get a Kick Out of You from Century Contemporary Dance Company; East&West Mix&Match and The Other Side of Darkness from Lin HH Dance Theatre; Nijinsky’s L’apres-midi d’un Faune which is reconstructed by Yun-Yu Wang and Die Fledermaus from National Symphony Orchestra…etc.

Gustavo Lin & Catarina Chung - Taipei
Gustavo started tango in 1997 and has promoted tango in Taipei since 2000; he was also invited to teach abroad. ShangHai (2005), Florence (2008), Seoul (2009), Hong Kong (2009). Catarina was first exposed to tango in Europe in 2007; later, she went to Buenos Aires for further learning in 2008 and 2009.  Last month, she and Gustavo were invited to share their experience in Singapore. Recently, Gustavo and Catarina have started up the tango studio “Corazon Tango” in central Taipei. They hope Tango in Asia will become more and more popular and people can feel the beauty from Tango.

Eduardo Chen & Karen Yang - Taipei
Eduardo
has danced for many years since he was a high school student, and he
started to tango from 2000. He enjoys Tango and thinks that making friends with people around the world through Tango is wonderful. Karen started to dance tango in 2000 and wishes to share this charming dance through teaching and performing. She says that "Life is complicated; simply tango!"

Mercury Park - Seoul
Experienced tango DJ in Seoul. DJed in many master workshops in Korea, including Geraldine & Ezequiel in 2006, Julio & Corina in 2007, and Sebastian & Roxana in 2008. DJed at the Opening Milonga of the Seoul Tango Festival in 2010. DJs regularly at the milongas Tango O Nada, El Tango and El Bulin in Seoul.

Olive & Hons - Hong Kong
Olive y Hons teamed up together to DJ after attending the Damian Boggio’s DJ workshop. Shortly after, they visited Buenos Aires to learn and experience the dance and the music. Since then, they have been invited to DJ at local milongas and various special events. They have also hosted “High Tea Milonga” on alternate Sundays. They believe it takes two to tango and take care of both men and women’s need of different music sensations. With an emphasis of the DJ-dancers interaction, they blended their own individual styles into one in their DJings.

Wayne Chen - Taipei
Wayne was abducted by the tango gods on the streets of San Francisco around 1998 when he saw a Broadway show called
"Forever Tango". Since then Wayne has rarely gone a week without dancing and has traveled the globe to experience tango happiness. Wayne has over six years of DJ experience, beautifully mixing music from the golden age and newer trends.

Doreen Chu - Taipei
This year is Doreen's fifth time to be the Master of Ceremony of the Chinese Style Milonga and the Grand Milonga. She used to host regular milongas at Olala, Shadow and Bue Museum in Taiwan, was invited to DJ in Shanghai, China and Bergen, Norway. Doreen is currently one of the guest DJs at Tanguisimo Tango Space.

Christine Song
Christine became acquainted with Taipei's tango circle through good friend and co-host Doreen. She was once a TV show host and now works in Hong Kong. She is not a tango dancer but loves the opportunity to appreciate the world's best Argentine tango masters up close and personal. This is her third time hosting Taipei Tango Festival.

Ronald Lee
Ronald Li is a professional MC and has been the host at many international events such as the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung, 2009 Vietnamese Cultural Festival, etc. This is his third time to be the host at the Taipei Tango Festival.
