The Taipei Tango Association (TTA) - still under construction 千禧年前夕 , 一群阿根廷探戈的愛好者成立了台北探戈工作坊 , 致力於台北地區探戈舞蹈與文化的推廣，為台灣第一個以推廣傳統阿根廷探戈為宗旨的團體，致力於表現並傳遞探戈的原貌原味。五年間開辦常態課程 , 舉辦多場藝文講座 , 也數度邀請國際知名探戈大師來台教授與表演。目前學生數已逾千人 , 每週固定舉辦阿根廷探戈舞會 , 每年有數次的大師工作坊 , 並已連續三年舉辦台北國際探戈節 , 為亞洲探戈界的年度盛事。台北探戈工作坊的舞者數度出國進修 , 曾多次受邀至香港、上海、及日本等地演出，並與阿根廷在台商務文化辦事處，及歐洲、亞洲及美洲的探戈組織網維持良好密切的交流。除常態課程外 , 並曾於信義社區大學 , 中山堂廣場 , 民生社區 , 及台北藝術大學戲劇系等開設課程 , 希望能集結更多的探戈愛好者並推動探戈文化在台灣的發展。 |

History of TTA (still under construction) 1997 年 4 月第一次看到阿根廷探戈，是在台北來來飯店演出的 ”Tango Fragrance” Show。在其中結識的舞者Jesús Velázquez於1997年底再度赴台時成為台北探戈同好的啟蒙老師。 1997 年 7 月重量級阿根廷探戈探戈秀“Tango Passion"在國家劇院演出三場。台北探戈同好有數位在驚艷之下連看三場，由此愛上探戈音樂與舞蹈，奠定日後的基礎。 1997 年 12 月Jesús Velázquez等舞者再度赴台北精華酒店表演。台北探戈同好首度有機會與阿根廷老師上課。 2000 年初 ” 台北探戈工作坊 ” 在台北市文化局申請成為業餘演藝團體 2000 年中 開始對外招生，開設阿根廷探戈初級及中級班。 2000 年 11 月 由日本京都邀請來阿根廷與智利籍名師 Lucía & Alvaro Salas 舉辦大師工作坊 (workshop) ，受到廣大的迴響 2000 年底 新增南京東路五段之 紐約紐約餐廳 成為每月常態舞會據點，至今仍是台北最理想、也最受歡迎的表演及舞會場地。 2001 年 2 月 Lucía & Alvaro Salas 二度來台舉行大師工作坊。
2001 年 3 月 首度舉辦公開之探戈音樂講座 。
2001 年 3 月 邀請旅居義大利的 Gladys Fernández & Ricardo Gallo 來台舉行大師工作坊。
2001 年 5 月 Lucía & Alvaro Salas 三度來台舉行大師工作坊。 2001 年 6 月 工作坊舞者應邀於台北市貿食品展中演出。
2001 年 8 月 Lucía & Alvaro Salas 四度來台舉行大師工作坊。 2001 年下半 台北探戈社群網站 （ http://groups.msn.com/TaipeiTango ） 成立。 2001 年 11 月 邀請電影 ”The Tango Lesson” 中與莎莉波特配舞的探戈大師 Fabián Salas 來台舉行大師工作坊。
2001 年 12 月 受邀於台 北市青少年育樂中心 開設阿根廷探戈課程。
2002 年 1 月 邀請旅居美國舊金山之探戈名師 Julian Miller Ramil & Claudia Lissette 舉行大師工作坊。
2002 年 2 月 新加入位於新生南路之 咖啡實驗室 舉辦舞會，成為每月常態舞會新據點。
2002 年 2 月 心岳與思齊辭掉工作離開台灣，展開為期半年的進修與環球旅行，前往包括阿根廷、西班牙等地。工作坊仍由其他成員持續經營。 2002 年 4 月 工作坊邀請烏拉圭老師 Esteban & Evelyn 大師工作坊 2002 年 8 月 工作坊邀請發行過知名探戈影音著作的大師 Mauricio Castro 舉行大師工作坊。 2002 年 9 月 心岳與思齊歸國，正式全職從事阿根廷探戈推廣。同時申請成立 www.tangotaiwan.com 網站 2002 年 9 月 南向推廣至新竹、台中開設課程。 2002 年 10 月 工作坊於 華山音樂館發表舞作。
2002 年 12 月 Fabián Salas ＆ Carolina Del Rivero 二度來台。 2003 年 1 月 舞劇「永恆的探戈」來台演出，工作坊受邀於中山堂光復廳 ” 永恆的探戈名人盛會 ” 中表演 ，並舉行空前的探戈服裝秀。
2003 年 2 月 工作坊再度於華山音樂館發表舞作 2003 年 4 月 受邀於台北內湖 社區大學開設課程 。 2003 年 7 月 舉辦第一次國外探戈旅遊 ，團員包括工作坊教師及學生，同行 11 人參加義大利 Bologna Tango Festival 與西班牙 Sitges Tango Festival 2003 年 9 月 舉辦 第一屆台北國際探戈節 。連續 六天之活動包含舞會及表演，課程，講座及免費初學者課程 。邀請到三對阿根廷老師，分別為 Javier Rodríguez & Geraldine Rojas 、 Guillermo Merlo & Fernanda Ghi 、 Leandro Palou & Andrea Missé 。 歐亞各城市專程前來參加活動的舞者多達 40 餘人，最大的舞會人數將近 300 人 。 2003 年 12 月 受邀於 台北信義社區大學 開設阿根廷探戈課程。 2003 年 12 月 心岳、思齊受邀至上海教學、表演及演講。 2004 年 1 月 邀請旅居法國里昂之阿根廷大師 Claudia Codega & Esteban Moreno 來台舉行大師工作坊及表演，盛況空前。 2004 年 4 月 獲邀於 中山堂堡壘咖啡遊藝廣場 ，開設阿根廷探戈課程。 2004 年 5 月 初次嘗試國內探戈假期 ，前往南台灣度假勝地墾丁，並結合邀請阿根廷新生代名師 Ezequiel Paludi & Sabrina Masso 來台舉行大師工作坊共同舉辦。 2004 年 5 月 教師劉心岳獲邀 與流行歌手許慧欣共舞 ， 拍攝新專輯 ” 幸福 ” 之主打歌 ” 大風吹 ” 音樂錄影帶 2004 年 6 月 心岳與思齊獲邀於 香港探戈組織 TangoTang 五週年慶舞會中表演 。 2004 年 6 月 台北探戈工作坊接受 Knowledge 頻道 ( 現 Travel and Living 頻道 )” 瘋台灣 ” 節目訪問， 拍攝上課及舞會情形。 2004 年 7 月 邀請旅居倫敦之阿根廷老師 Leandro Palou & Andrea Missé 來台舉行大師工作坊。 2004 年 9 月 舉行 第二屆台北國際探戈節 ， 共四場舞會、三天共 27 堂課、 fnac 講座、探戈攝影展、初學者課程、大師演出、現場樂團演奏等精彩活動。三對授課及表演的國際級大師，分別為 Claudia Codega & Esteban Moreno 、 Geraldine Rojas & Javier Rodríguez 、 Lucía & Alvaro Salas 。 2005 年 3 月 舞者劉心岳與周思齊、李則皞與湯謦瑋受邀至日本名古屋及東京演出 2005 年 6 月 邀請阿根廷新生代舞者 Pablo Villarraza & Dana Frigoli 來台教學及表演，並再次舉辦墾丁探戈營 2005 年 7 月 受兩廳院 ” 黑盒子講座音樂會 ” 節目邀請於實驗劇場演出 ，場場爆滿。 2005 年 9 月 舉行 第三屆台北國際探戈節 ， 共四場舞會、三天共 27 堂課、初學者課程、大師演出、現場樂團演奏等精彩活動。三對授課及表演的國際級大師，分別為 Julio Balmaceda & Corina de la Rosa 、 Claudia Codega & Esteban Moreno 、 Damian Esell & Nancy Lousan 。 2005 年 11 月 心岳與思齊受邀將代表台灣於東京參與 ”World Tango Festival” 演出 ( 請參考 http://japan-tangofestival.com/eng/libertad.htm ) ，表演者將有來自阿根廷及世界各地之優秀舞者。 |

Besides regular classes, Daniel and Stacy also give tango classes at different locations in order to promote tango. They organize workshops with argentinian masters and host an annual Taipei Tango Festival, seeking to construct the tango community in Taipei to be an important one in the Far East. Daniel and Stacy started dancing during their studies at the National Taiwan University by participating in the Folk Dance Club. Later on they learned ballet, jazz, modern dance and chinese dance with professor Huang Chi. They got their first glance at argentine tango in 1997 and at the same year entered the taiwanese flamenco troupe "Fuego Fantastico" to be flamenco dancers. They went to Spain in 1999 to study flamenco, and in year 2000 they founded along with friends the "Taipei Tango Association", registered under the cultural department of the Taipei City Government. At the same year they left the flamenco group to focus on tango, and in 2002 waived their respective jobs to fly to Argentina to study tango. They traveled to many tango festivals in Europe and ran professional as tango dancers and teachers as they came back to Taiwan in september 2002. They have been to Taichung and Hsinchu to teach tango and were invited to Shanghai in december 2003 for workshops. They traveled again to Buenos Aires in february 2004 for six weeks and were invited to perform at the 5th Anniversary of the Hong Kong tango club "TangoTang".
Derrick and Agnes have been partners since they were studying in National Taiwan University and have been dancing tango together for four years. They have studied tango from masters in many different places, such as Argentina, United States, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, etc. In spite of having their respective professions, they are professional tango dancers, teachers and choreographers giving regular tango lessons, performances and workshops in Taiwan. Their vibrant and breezy style is always popular and has received very good feedback.|
